Creepella von Cacklefur — — The Thirteen Ghosts by Geronimo Stilton

This book is a new line of the popular kid series Stilton the mouse. You can infer the theme from the character’s name, Creepella that it is about ghosts. Since this book is for children, the degree of fright is ‘well-controlled’. If you are looking for authentic spooky novel, you may as well try different books.

One thing that stands out is the fun of the story. You will be hooked to read to the last page. Besides, the author introduced some kind of family reunion in this story. The thirteenth ghost was actually the great-great-great-uncle of one mouse character, Billy. As soon as he realized the news, he hugged the ghost but fell onto the floor. The author always tried to minimize the story’s sensational part to make it ‘light’ to read.

The author was keen to make children laugh so he included some jokes in the later part of the book. Please allow me to share one of them: ‘Why did the skeleton stay home from the dance?’ ‘Because he had no-body to go with!’

The series should be a riveting pastime for children.
